DESIGN TRENDS

Designersblock - Hall 6 - Interiors Birmingham

For the first time ever, Designersblock will work within an event to promote influencing trends alongside their visions for the seasons ahead. Using four storylines, Designersblock will use products from exhibitors and non-exhibiting companies to highlight global and worldly trends.

The Source - Hall 4 - Interiors Birmingham

Max Clements will create The Source to showcase new trends in Design, Materials & Technology, Lifestyle and Environmental Sustainability. This presentation will be delivered through a variety of techniques including visual media and live interaction. By providing a genuinely new and innovative experience for visitors, the area will present a wide spectrum of skills and activity across the industry stimulating new interaction and the exchange of ideas. A variety of specialist companies, organisations and individuals will be contributing and supporting this celebration of the extraordinary range of skills, talent and creativity within our furniture, interior and creative industries. The Source plans to:

  • Inspire.....to inspire visitors, exhibitors and the industry and encourage a creative and economic regeneration of our market place.
  • Inform.........to provide information regarding developments in design, technology, environmental issues and lifestyle influences.
  • Promote.......to promote the work of talented up and coming companies, and designers while acknowledging the traditions of craftsmanship and innovation that are inherent in our industrial and social history.
  • Connect........to help connect companies, organisations and individuals and foster new and creative collaborations.
  • Develop.........to develop a unique ‘event' within the Interiors show that will literally be ‘The Source',  in terms of practical information, ideas, products, inspiration and creative energy.

Design Debate  - 8/9 link - Interiors Birmingham

A showcase of selected British design will start a debate. This will be a shortlist of selected items that the visitors can vote on. The debate will run with a presentation by an editor or nominated designer and kick off an interesting and thought-provoking debate about each design, allowing the visitor to vote for each piece. The product with the most votes will be given as a prize to a randomly selected visitor. This will take place every afternoon during the event from 4-6pm, with Winter Pimms on offer.
