Birmingham City University formerly the University of Central England in Birmingham has long been associated with design led initiatives, including the Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre, the West Midlands Furniture Forum and the work they do with through the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.  The partnership with CMPi provides a real opportunity to showcase these connections with industry to the wider design community outside of the region.

In the Detail is an industrial design consultancy combining the talents of award winning furniture designer Stefan Bench and emerging architect Carl Holloway.

It is a shared affinity with form, function, material processes and refined details that inform intheDetail's work. Their projects across all scales share a strong visual identity and character, and recently their Trace tables design for UK based NaughtOne has been included in the MoMA retail store in New York.

intheDetail are developing strong relationships with furniture manufacturers in both the UK and abroad launching products into the marketplace across a wide range of price points, as well as developing a strong portfolio of interior projects.
